I don't doubt that it probably a decent headphones if you try to disconnect it from Abyss, but I can't help but think that it looks like a competitor to the moondrop void.

Also, the Wa33 is a tube amp right? I don't think using a high end tube amp is appropriate for a first impression listen.

Fyi, there are simple, reversible mods that you can do that, imo, make the se846 sounds many times better than stock. I understand if you don't wanna mess with your 900$ iems but let me know if you do

I've had the chance to listen to many speakers system, some that cost more than my net worth, in a treated room. But a lot of times I still find myself enjoy the music from my headphones more. I feel like they are more personal, intimate, and engaging.

All I'm saying is that speakers isn't some holy grail that headphones can never touch. They are just different listening medium that provide different experiences.

I actually like the mid of my dt1990 more than the hd6xx. It's just conveniently ruin by a single 8k peak

Modest my ass. Your set up is already comparable to a high-end one, just not totl, and more than anyone ever need to enjoy music. It's an excellent set up.

Realistically there shouldn't be much if any difference in sound at all if both aren't using any effect. But UAPP is definitely worth it for me, specifically for the features it provide. And after the UI change some times back, I think it is the best music player on android now.
