I have the same issue, I really look for new vocabulary in every book I read, and on some books I need to get the facts first, then read the book to fill in the details.

I'm sort of the same. In that I'm retired and what to do with myself now. I've spent a life time buying and reading books. Books are the great get away from the struggles in life. I have opened and sponsor a Little Free Library. What that has done for me is focused my life in part to sharing books with the community. My suggestion to you personally is to expand your love for books, and the thing you are good at into a profession type of reference for your community. You can open your own LFL, still enjoy social media in the context of using it to be a part of a book, video game community while researching good books to supply your LFL. Its a library, so books, video games, dvd movies, cd music all can be offered.

Reply to Do you ever look up the authors you're reading to get to know them better? by justkeepbreathing94
Most of the books I buy have the author's life chronology listed either in the beginning of the book or at the end. The list has three areas of interest, Date of events in the authors life, Literary context, is a history of other authors books at the same time along with his, and third and last Historical world events of the same year. Yes I'm interested in Authors in the same generation as my great, great, great, grand fathers and what happened in history as time moved up into today. I can see the age of E.A. Poe, and H.P. Lovecraft and the Authors they read that influenced their writing.

I just opened a Free Little Library, I have a few teachers helping with book ideas, never knew of Lin and Henry working on books. Just put their series on my wish list for this coming month purchase.

No. I got caught up in highlighting and underlining in bible studies. I didn't realize the mistake until I purchased a new bible. I could read the same passage once and get a understanding concerning it. Then read the same passage two years later, and have a whole different concept in its meaning because of the added understanding of the previous chapters that I had missed the first time reading.

Yes! Life doesn't always tread along in a predictable rhythm. Today you are busy making money, the day will come when you have time to read. Also use something like wooden apple crates to put your books in, they stack good as a book case as your library grows. On moving day you just need a Trash bag to cover the top and the move is done.

https://littlefreelibrary.org there are 150,000+ in 110+ countries with 465 visits per library. My personal Library is 60% stocked toward children, and 40% stocked with banned books. I've set a budget of $100 a month to buy and stock books. There is also the addition of donated books from community to support my LFL. Check out the world map at LFL you will find them in your own neighbor hood

Your comment brought a realization to me; The American dream is money and wealth. The Indian dream is romantic love. Hollywood vs Bollywood. In the early internet bulletin board chat rooms, Indian women where all about comparing romantic love, to things in America, as a way to understand our culture. I didn't have a clue back then, they where trying to find out if I was like the Bollywood hero, if so then I was their man.
