A few tips -

Make sure youve got enough storage space! If youre recording in 4k60fps your storage fills up fast!

Make sure to hold onto your phone real tight, but dont cover the microphone holes!

Lower your display brightness to minimum to be less intrusive to other people

If a slow song comes up and the artist asks for everyone to turn on your phone flashlight - its a perfect opportunity to start a video with the flash on - multitasking baby

Make sure to record some selfie footage of yourself and your close ones too - much better than โ€œjust the bandโ€ :)

Have fun!

I dont get this consensus. I am a very visual being, if i didnt have a video or at least a photo from a show i would soon even forget how it all looked and felt. Plus i love sharing my experiences with others and i have gone through my footage from previous shows many times over.

So to the op: i guess first make sure to answer this honestly - Do you want to film it because you know you will look back at it? Or do you want to film it just because you feel like you have to?

If its the latter, jusr like with fireworks id recommend recording yourself and your close ones with the selfie camera instead :)

And first and foremost, enjoy your show, wear hearing protection and dont let others tell you how youre allowed/supposed to enjoy a show!
