You get downvoted because you come off as a basement dwelling fear monger. You post exclusively about crime in a relatively low population subreddit, which makes pvd look dangerous. It is not.

My wife and I just moved here recently from CT. We are in Mt. Hope, and love it here. It's safe, quiet, and reasonably priced. It seems to be mostly young families here. The walkability is wonderful too. Downtown is a 15m walk, or a free ride on the R line if i'm feeling lazy.

From what I've seen, you can't go wrong on the east side.

If you're looking for a spot in the broader new England area, BT's smokehouse in Sturbridge MA. Hands down the best BBQ i've had. They've won a bunch of awards and shown up on "best in USA" lists. If you're beer drinkers, it's BYOB and right near yankee spirits, which has a beer section the size of some grocery stores
