Ahhhh.

Out of nowhere there is now a plant shop on Washington St. between Sussex and Morris in Paulus Hook. I know nothing about it other than when I walked by this week there were lovely plants spilling out into the street.

Someone nearly hit us crossing Marin at Montgomery. The driver wasn’t going fast, but I surprised my husband by kicking the back of the car. Driver stopped and started to get out of his car, but people in the cross walk told him to fuck off.

Absolutely Judicke’s in Bayonne. Which is not JC, but is worth it for cake donuts. We have a serious donut hole here in JC.

We’re in Paulus Hook (downtown JC). We live in a duplex apartment in a brownstone that gives us a small back yard. This set up isn’t easy to find but it exists (Van Vorst and Hamilton Park, too). Best part of Paulus Hook for us is the amount of dogs (and I know people will yell at me) but you’ll find lots of dog and dog space at Morris Canal Park.

How come delivery folks don’t seem to be using insulated bags/boxes when they’re on eBikes? Now that it’s cold I’m only ever getting frozen tacos because they’ve been swinging from handlebars for 20 minutes when it’s 40 degrees outside.

My understanding is that the walk was to make sure he was sufficiently “back to normal” after the anesthesia. (But I, myself, am recovering from surgery and might be too loopy still to get the details correct!)

Our dog knows how to independently get to Hound About Town for a pig’s ear. I don’t doubt this buddy could get home to where people weren’t cutting off his balls.

I do believe that my husband and some neighbors helped with his recovery. If it’s the dog who escaped his post-neuter walk with the vet, he ran back to his apartment in Paulus Hook. He went right up to his gate. My husband and some neighbors got him inside the gate, gave him some food and water, and his parents returned right away.
