Idk which part of Newark you're driving around , But I haven't seen that in Downtown or University Heights... Most of that activity is near Airport Hotels and Union City isn't immune to sleazy activities what do you think happens in those hotels along 1/9?

It's about 90 mins from Newark to Wilmington , it's doable once or twice a week any more than that, and I'd just move to Wilmington or Philly. Philly is an hour by SEPTA from Wilmington or a hr from NYC on Amtrak...and much cheaper than living in JC.

Ameribus was complaining about NJT not giving them buses... Someone told me in the 90s they sued the state to break up the monopoly NJT held...but most of them could not keep up the service levels that NJT had and now it looks like NJT will probably absorb some more routes.

The PATH is only good if you're within walking distance of the Harrison Station or are transferring from a connecting service at Newark Penn. Frank Rodgers during rush hour is gridlock ,and it's like that for 2hrs in the morning and 2hrs in the evening. So driving down from Kearny might take 45-1hr...

There were just 10 redevelopment posts made to r/newark , and there's usually one made once a week...the current redevelopment boom has been going on for the last decade mainly in the Downtown / University Heights and the Ironbound.. Only in recent years has that begun to spread to other sections of the city...

The Long Island portion was to create a 3rd set of tunnels under the East River with a connection to the Old Montauk Branch and Electrify that will speeds increased to 110mph it would rejoin the main line at Jamaica-JFK which would be its first stop. Then it ride along the Main Line breaking off at Floral Park onto a reconfigured Hempstead Branch interchange , then it would share that branch until Garden City. The Hempstead Branch would be grade separated. The line would continue above and below ground using the abandoned LIRR Central Branch before merging back into the main line by Farmingdale and riding that out to Medford before curving north along one of the highway rows to the Sound. The Sound portion could have been delt with an immersed tunnel.
