When I lend it to people I absolutely insist they go in blind, but stick around for the “post-credit sequence”

Slasher films tend to start with the victims being bumped off in out of the way places so nobody catches on for a while. Once people figure out what’s going on it can just be a race between the killer and the police. Movies like Ft13 are usually set in locations where you can get a few more kills in in the time it takes the police to arrive, and then they fill the killer full of bullets just in time to save the last victim.

It’s one of my favourite movies of the year. Delivered exactly what it promised.

Con Air is the best of the three. It’s got a great rogues’ gallery.

It was indeed St Elsewhere. I’ve always run under the assumption the kid overheard these shows and inserted them into his fantasy, just because there’s rarely connection between the series outside of St Elsewhere.

I’ve often though Event Horizon would make a good futuristic supplement for the D&D setting of Ravenloft.

AKA, how many times did I check the runtime to see if it was almost over. If I’m entertained I’ll rate it high.

I think a lot of horror movies are creepier if you can only hear them. Your mind makes up what’s going on. 🤣

Midsommar has some scenes that stick in the mind. The Evil Dead remake has some blood soaked unsettling bits.

And the original post was asking if the rating system had become more lax. The Scott Pilgrim comment seems related to that.
