Yup. I interviewed at Apple about 10 years ago (or so - the donut was still under construction). Was all excited to visit Infinite Loop ... only to spend my day in some nondescript, beige, Initech-like building in Sunnyvale. Which is where I'd have been had gotten the gig.

Which I didn't. Wasn't all that mad about it TBH. REALLY didn't wanna move up there.

Because people who aren't in the business or have only the most basic understanding of it hear "software developer" and think "someone who builds web sites."

The FUD around all this is pretty nuts.

I built the digital marketing campaign for that movie and got to go to a screening at the Sony lot ... with Sam Raimi. (Bruce Campbell was SUPPOSED to be there as well but didn't make it)

Pretty fun chatting with him after. He said something to the effect of loving it because it was truly scary and less campy than the original.

Prolly the coolest project I worked on in my decade of Hollywood advertising.
