Not to be a downer, but I would be happy if they could figure out how to run trains at 30mph and on a regular schedule. If anyone has a bulletproof system for this, please contact the MBTA.

Then you can imagine my anger that in order to commute 6 miles to do similarly complex experiments it takes 45min to an hour.

Ironically, the MBTA took on an unsustainable amount of debt in defraying the cost of the big dig. Classic creative financing to cripple a public good in the service of highways.

Cosmic rays are a thing. DNA repair is stopped and the slow decay continues.

Funny thing is the article says they were stored in liquid nitrogen which stops all processes. Not true. Cosmic rays will penetrate and slowly degrade their dna. Sme thing happens with cell lines. These kids should be closely monitored.

Reply to Major breakthrough in cancer research: Papers reveal 'dark matter' that contributes to disease's growth by Ezekiel_W
Epigenetics are not a new thing and not even associated with cancer as a concept. It’s long been known that epigenetics is responsible for a lot of differentiation and dedifferentiation so not exactly revolutionary or dark matter. I give the breathless headline a D. Not to say the studies are not good but , please it’s not like no one saw this coming…

That would be great but the point is that this technology will be available but implementing it effectively is another matter. We have the capability and technology to do so many things right now that fall short due to management failures including but not limited to lack of budget for instance.
