Jail doesn’t prevent these things. Affordable Intervention and preventative measures that make these facilities more public however does prevent these things.

This is a very widespread issue and could easily be fixed by giving people power over their own lives and by making facilities like this less isolated.

But all the focus of people is on the perpetrator’s punishment instead of on future victims getting preventative protections that actually work.
