The English language and all it’s bizarre rules is a strange pairing with the metric system.

Yea, it’s got attractive and charismatic actors, and came out in Covid times when new movies were sparse. I’m not surprised, but is a bit sad as it’s instantly forgettable.

Somewhat relatedly, how come prescription medicine isn’t sized based on the patient weight?

Artists love to criticize ticketmaster, but the truth is they’re all on cahoots. Artists and venues don’t want to be the bad guy charging high prices. So they let Ticketmaster take the role of the villain and kicks back a good portion of those fees to the venue and artist.

Didn’t start off as fraud. But when incompetence doomed the festival they refused to be honest before it was too late and cancel/refund. So then it became fraud. Also I think he lied to investors a lot.

Yea…. Gotta give that guy respect for admitting that. Most people would probably bury that detail, especially in front of a documentary crew!

What does this fuzzing accomplish? Is the idea to find an input that returns an error of some sort?

Is there something like this for ebooks? I use Libby for what I can, but wait times are often months long.

Thanks for explaining this. I’ve always been confused how the two seem to be used quasi-interchangeably.

Les Mis is full of that. There’s chapters on the history of sewers if I remember correctly.

Agreed. A 0-100% scale is generally best to be presented linearly. If they’re all grouped near the bottom then that’s the point, and shouldn’t be hidden.

Got a citation for that? As much as I dislike Amazon, that’s a bit tough to believe.

I just meant in general English has lots of weird rules like:
> I before e, except after c Or when sounded as 'a' as in 'neighbor' and 'weigh' Unless the 'c' is part of a 'sh' sound as in 'glacier' Or it appears in comparatives and superlatives like 'fancier' And also except when the vowels are sounded as 'e' as in 'seize' Or 'i' as in 'height' Or also in '-ing' inflections ending in '-e' as in 'cueing' Or in compound words as in 'albeit' Or occasionally in technical words with strong etymological links to their parent languages as in 'cuneiform' Or in other numerous and random exceptions such as 'science', 'forfeit', and 'weird'.
Which is funny because metric system is all about logical and consistent rules. So metric + English language is a funny pairing to me.
