It seems firmly outside the uncanny valley, unless I'm missing something? Not much natural about it - it looks and moves like a robot.

What nonsense, not all unethical behaviour is equal. AI won't be magic, it can't wish away all the unethical things in this world.

World is not a tidy black or white, there is a spectrum. There is more and less ethical, and an AI system will definitely have a better grasp of how to make things more ethical. Not perfect, just incrementally better. Whether controllers choose to leverage it for that, is another question.

As long as it's less unethical and grotesque, which it arguably can be, that's a win

It's one of the leading causes of mortality. It would be fine if that risk only applied to you, but it doesn't. You have plenty of options to find a rush, if you're not lazy about it.

So drive on a race track, you still have the choice without endangering others.

Seems something has already killed your creativity. There are plenty of superior alternatives to driving cars, to drive critical thinking and 'authenticity'. Being stuck in traffic is hardly the apex of human experience.

They said they're using the patients genomic profile. As to how beneficial that is, I'm not sure (also unclear just how much data exists for drug effects paired with genomic data).

Absolutely they have that right, as does the US.

Incorrect, China sanctioned Australia for merely mentioning that the origins of COVID should be investigated. Sanctioned Lithuania for allowing a Taiwanese embassy. What do you think they would do if a credible threat to their power base was identified?

The world will be a better place with a strong India. However you cannot assign all the blame to the west for messing up relations with China, with such hostile diplomacy coming out of China, really what did they expect?

It would happen either way. China sanctions countries for far less, it's a foregone conclusion they wouldn't be sharing any technology that threatens their dominance. Doubly so if the US in this alternate reality was making noises to replace the CCP led world order, do you think that would not be met with a response?

Russian government revenue has been smashed, they won't be able to weather a costly war if that trend continues, regardless of what they might want.
