Reply to What lubricant to use on garage door? by rockyboy49
"Garage Door Lube" from 3-in-One. It's available at most hardware stores.
I know it sounds obvious, but I only discovered it myself a few years ago. It is kind of messy so you might pull your car out first, even masking areas if you are really uptight about over spray.

Reply to Shower valve versus handle replacement? by knewtoff
Whats on the back side of the valve? Is it a wall you can easily cut out and repair or is it a nightmare of cabinets on top of tile or an exterior wall?
If it's easy to cut out and repair, like a simple Sheetrock and paint job, then that might help determine what you want to do. Personally I loath dual knob showers so I would try to install a new faucet if I could but I'm not sure I would go so far to rip out tile to do it. I would however open up a hallway or bedroom wall in a heartbeat.
They make shower cover plates that would convert your existing 3 hole setup into a single hole setup so that's an easy fix if you do go with a single knob mixer.
Also, if you do rip out the back wall, if practical, you could consider putting a small door in the wall for the next guy who might want to replace it. Sometimes that next guy is you.

Food vendors raise rates all the time but no one would pay a 3% food cost recovery fee when visiting a restaurant. Its the cost of doing business.

aka, the cost of doing business. When did it become acceptable for business to pass on every expense as a separate fee hiding the real cost of a product or service?

How are you suppose to pay without a fee? An e-check is the same as a normal check and has a fee, credit and debit are both charged at 3.25%. I'm sure they don't take cash because places like this seldom do.
What form of payment don't they double dip with? I say go to the HOA meeting and raise hell.

That box on the wall inside the shower. The British have not figured out hot water yet so they just hang a device powered by 220v right inside the shower. It would be generous to call it a hot water heater, its more like a warmer.

And it's the best one because of the handy sprayer it comes in. No more losing the straw.

Which raises the question why don't we have more savory cinnamon rolls? Or how about other sweet versions? Why does it have to be just cinnamon? Why not raspberry compote with cream cheese frosting or something similar?
