I’m going back to solid state. The beauty of tubes for me was always the glowing lights and the novelty of it. But with my current layout I need something that doesn’t get hot that can hide under my shelf on my desk. In a roundabout answer, I don’t think they matter that much (all of my daily headphones are high impedance Sennheisers) as I can’t really hear much of a difference. I also certainly don’t have golden ears so that’s just my take on it. If you think they look cool go for it, if you want it for sound change try to demo it first.

For mountain biking I use ear bud style wireless (like original airpods) due to allowing sound in and not having to deal with transparency mode. I’d recommend going that route as the convenience is worth the loss in audio quality IMO.

It’s why I’m not going down the IEM road, personally. I don’t like them for desktop listening, and would prefer wire free on the go. Everyone is different, but my S12 and Q5k will be the last on the go setup with wires for me. After this, I will go TWS. However, I think both will continue to exist, preferences and whatnot.

I’ve got a fat head so you must have a damn watermelon. Stock the fit was very uncomfortable, had to bend them out to the point I thought the plastic would break while also bending the metal bands that extend.

I can’t use software EQ at work due to software restrictions on my work laptop. So I use it as a DAC that I feed in to my amp.

I also use it for travel so I can charge my phone and have EQ for whatever IEM I feel like bringing with me over Bluetooth.
