I really prefer the traps in 1. They are more sadistic while being sub-lethal. Plus blows to the family jewels never get old.

I know nothing about the Japanese legal system.
However I believe duel is correctly used in the English meaning of the word. The two met at an agreed time and place to resolve their dispute with fisticuffs. This was not a spontaneous bar room tussle.
