Honestly, this is worth the money. I know a guy in sales department who just spent like $40k on a bass boat. A boat that he will use maybe 12 times a year and cost thousands in maintenance. I really would take the HE1 given the choice

I mostly listen with 58X or 6XX and it smooths sound out and adds a little weight to music, which I like. Not a huge difference, but just a little. And for $320 it's a great first tube amp. I feed it with the SMSL M200 DAC. I keep the tube volume at 50% and use the M200 to control volume. I don't know if this is necessary, but that's what I do. Oh, last comment, I'm on my second pair of 6XX... this new one sounds much better than my previous version which I sold because I didn't care for it. I wonder if I'm making that up or are there really variations in 6XX sound.

I just got the XDuoo TA26, but my room gets dusty, and I don't want a dusty TA26... so AMP COZY!

I just got the elegia, (same driver dome but different magnet structure) and I feel the same about the upper-mids being too shouty. I found the dan clark tuning filters help A LOT! I just pop one behind the pad and it smooths thing out. I believe burn in will help tone it down and little, but for now the DCA filters are great.
