There are several places above Brattleboro, but it is still on the higher end for homestead tax rates. https://joeshimkus.com/VT-Tax-Rates.aspx

Can't stress this comment enough. Season 1 was OK for me, but that episode is where the show really found its stride.

My 4 year old car auto dims highbeams as other cars approach. Not sure why this isn't a standard feature. It's incredibly convenient and it has never failed to dim a single time (I'm always worried that it will fail to dim....and the approaching car will be a cop).

The refund is supposed to be an incentive to have people return their empties. That would certainly provide an incentive (and maybe have people drink less soda).

I can't remember a storm quite like this. It was 50 degrees at noon, and pouring rain. Then the sun came out briefly. An hour ago, there were 30 mph winds and snow. Tomorrow it'll be about 15. I lost Internet for about 2 hours and power for 10 minutes, and yet my TV antenna managed to have perfect reception (usually with 20 mph winds, reception is spotty).

I usually have my annual physical during the first week of December. I reached out for a prescription of one of my normal meds in August and they said they would send it to my pharmacy, but I needed to schedule a physical as well. The earliest was the 1st week of March. My aunt is an optician and new patients at her place are looking at 12-15 months.

1997 (I feel like it was late October), I had to pick up my buddy in Burlington after a concert and drive back to college in Northern NY. Normally a 3 hour drive, we left Burlington at 11:00 pm and arrived at about 5:30 am. It was impossible to see, so speeds on 89 and route 11 rarely exceeded 20 mph. Somehow I made it to my 9:40 linear algebra class.

I love to hear this.....I live super close to a Hannford and do all my shopping there as well. My really good friend heads the produce department and he did mention how they do give a lot of their excess away. I figured that was standard amongst all stores.

I really need to start going to Old Soul Farm. I've heard great things and I live less than a mile away.

Hannaford has a rewards app with some nice deals. Their generic brand products are pretty solid quality too. Getting the apps for all the stores, then seeing what coupons are available that week is probably your best bet to save $$$.

Giants, as any real Vermonter should...(I heard there was a team established much later, that is slightly closer......I also heard they went 18-1 once....impressive!)

You can't believe people upvoted the correct answer? Have you seriously never heard of a luxury tax?

I lived on a busy street growing up, and our cats lived long lives.......I moved to a less trafficked area when I got out of college and lost a 7 year old cat. That was 14 years ago and it still causes me guilt to this day......now, I have 2 indoor cats, and a 3rd that goes outside for 5-10 minute supervised outdoor trips (he also went missing but came home after 13 days). Not judging you....just providing my experience.

Reply to comment by NonDeterministiK in Did I hallucinate the arctic temps this past weekend? by [deleted]
Not a meteorologist, but in simple terms.....when the arctic warms, the polar vortex gets pushed south, which leads to these 2-3 days of intense cold. Since the arctic is warming at a rate faster than the rest of the planet, we can expect it to happen more frequently.
