I think a lot of militaries are very quickly realizing that swarms of kamikaze drones are an incredible counter to expensive machinery like tanks and grounded planes.

$5,000 seems like a pretty high cutoff. Doesn’t seem like it will do anything against the majority of these events which seem to be clothing and convenience store flash mobs. At the least it should be stolen goods value and damage to property value and compensation value for the business needing to be closed for repairs.

The only way to get the police to respond is to say you think he has a gun. Sad but true. It’s also why police shoot so many people that end up being unarmed despite the 911 callers saying they think they have a weapon… Because it’s the only way to get a police response at all.

Putting them in my pant pockets feels weird when it isn’t cold. But I like resting them in my coat pockets even when I’m indoors, even when it isn’t that cold. There’s a difference to it somewhere!

Do the rules even matter? The existing rules don’t even seem to apply already, who cares about new ones?

Democrats control the senate and presidency. Nothing the house generates is viable, it’s all DOA. There is no work to be done outside of silly stunts.

The same thing that happened to every other industry that was downsized or replaced by advancing technology. Nothing new or novel about an occupation changing.

SSN was never designed to be used like it is now as a pseudo ID. We really need a national ID act with stronger inherent protections to replace the identity theft crises of a failure our current system enables.
But that gets one side complaining about government overreach (the government wants to control you!!) and the other side saying it will be used for voter suppression. So we will continue with this shit system…

Mechanization and automation in low skill low paying jobs is a good thing for society though. It leads to short term issues, but those should never be put before progress. If it did, the Luddites would have won and we would still have a textile industry all done by hand.

Stupid remark aside, 17 years old isn’t a “kid”. If you can enlist in the military, you aren’t a kid anymore.
