I would highly recommend renting a car and do many of the things people suggested. It would be easier and more economical than getting Ubers everywhere

The sand blows into the road, it’s like driving after a snowstorm. On the flip side, I kept expecting to see the ocean on the other side of a dune, even though I know it’s nowhere near it

When I used to commute, I would check the ct dot website and look at the traffic cams on the highways to gauge how well they were plowed

You could try 284 to 84E by Brewster, NY into CT. My parents would do that when traveling from NJ, to avoid the hell that is 95

Wallingford. It’s 30 minutes to weha and 15-20 from New Haven train station, or you can go a little further down 95 for a shorter train commute
