Lol I was listening to the police scanner during the school shooting scare the other day and there were 3 home invasions reported over the 30-45 minutes I was tuned in. Early afternoon - full daylight. At least one involved a gun.

The people who think Springfield is safe for everyone just haven't been personally assaulted yet.

It's a totally understandable and natural impulse to want go in and save your child, especially after Uvalde, but the confusion of having random adults in the school that nobody can identify makes the situation so much more dangerous.

So grateful that it turned out to be a false report. It sounds like we had officers in the building fairly quickly.

Listening on scanner sounded like a student or someone pretending to be a student called in saying that several people had been shot.

Police cleared the building and found no evidence of a shooter.

Apparently as the search was winding down, several parents got into the school which seems like a great way to add to the confusion of the situation.

I wish I were mature enough to "communicate" when I was 18.

It's not exactly related to your situation but my best advice going forward is to never date someone from your friend pool. If you are interested in someone you meet, let them know that from the start. Transitioning from friend to something more almost always shakes out to be a dramatic nightmare.

Don't be afraid to approach someone you are interested in, you don't have to wait for them to make the first move as long as you are open and respectful.

Honesty and communication beats the hell out of the emotional game-playing you see so much with people in their teens and 20s. You sound like you've got a good start on it and that really is the key to every good relationship.

I'm trying to figure out how that camera is attached to him. Not a drone, it's one of those 360 cams that people like to put in their mouths. Maybe mounted on a rod that is attached to him.

I assume when it zooms out it is just increasing field of view. His ice axe still gets very close to it on his back swings.
