Probably better move, at least for a while. You can not know what the powers of the being are. If this is a Strega, this means the being is some sort of Vampire (different from the ones in the movies, but a vampire nonetheless), she wants to feed on you. If the being is a Dark Elf (a marine one), her intentions can be very different. In this case, the blood of her kin is in your veins and she knows it.

Anyway, not a mere ghost, but a being with a body, even if this body is different from a living, Human body. The attitude Emma had suggests more the Strega possibility, Emma being, perhaps, like some sort of farm animal for the Strega, feeding on her blood or on her life force, or both. Regardless, she seems to want you for herself. Move as fast as you can, at least until things settle.

”Witch”, the woman might be what some call in Romance speaking countries a Strega, a humanoid being who feeds on Humans and has magical abilities, and it is named ”witch”, but this meaning is very different from the standard one of Human performed of magical rituals. Some relate the Strega with Vampires, they may be one and the same species.

The Banshee mention suggest a connection to beings called Sidhe in Ireland, basically Elves. Mermaids, called Merrows in Ireland, are considered a Sidhe subspecies. Yet, this seems to be far away from there. Merrows could travel far. People say it is a ghost, you say, I have doubts of this being the spirit of a deceased Human. Especially since the presence of seaweed and of the mark.

Perhaps Emma was in the middle of the process of being assimilated into the Merrow race. If she already had some distant Sidhe ancestorship, she could have been taken to be one of them. If so, yourself are in the first stages of this. You, your wife, or both.

It depends very much on your spiritual path. If you are Christian, I would suggest going to a priest of your own confession. If your faith is different, it depends of it. What I can tell is that, at least in normal circumstances, Demons can not read your mind. They can only guess from the outside, being old spirits, not bound to a body, they have a lot of experience.

Perhaps somebody in your family has performed some black magic or harmed someone really bad. (I do not imply that yourself did something like that, you do not need to tell us that, of course.) Perhaps you or someone in your family granted unknown spirits power over themselves, being naive. I hear of people doing things like that sometimes. Regardless of those things, you need to find out, probably pretty fast.

Shadow People are Demons, it is unclear what they want, it is unclear why Demons who take certain shapes to certain people, and why. They often make people sense a dread a Ghost or undead beings who used to be Human can not bring to the living. Yet, the true shape of this being (or beings, there can be several of them showing off at different times) it is not this, their true shape is far more terrible then they want to show or they can show. And, trust me, even a Ghost or a being like a Werewolf would probably run scared if they saw a Demon like this in their true shape. So...

I first thought that your father was dead and you saw his ghost. Or perhaps he is dead, but it is ok to see his ghost not wearing a white shirt?

Or, maybe, in was just the state you were in like, sometimes when we are dreaming, there some elements in the dream that just feel scary for some unknown reason, things that shall not scare us while we are awake?
