Planning started in 2000 according to that website. There is some person in NJ who has basically spent their entire working career from college to retirement working on this.

It’s 8 according to NJ. Although I swear shit was going on on valley road even before that.
Also according to NJ it was substantially completed in 2017, lololol.

Nope it’s been close to 10. My son is 11, he went to a daycare off valley road. That shit was under construction since he was 2 at least. When he hit kindergarten we held a feast at my home. The feast of no more paying for daycare and commuting through a construction zone.

Why would you ever want to finish a gravy train? That’s why the 46/3 interchange has been under construction for 10 years.

Ya but in NJ you get to pull up and enjoy this view for 5 extra minutes while you wait for the attendant to start pumping your gas.
Late for work or some other appointment. Just sit back and enjoy all that NJ has to offer.

I suggested Clifton too. The elementary schools are good/decent. But every grading I’ve ever seen for the high school is that it is garbage.
If your kid is actually a good student you can always look at sending your kid to a charter/county high school instead. I recently moved out of Clifton, and had some neighbors in public high school that wasn’t Clifton High school.

Well, when you say home, I’m not sure if that means you are looking at condos or not. I would say take a look at Clifton, NJ. Near the delawanna train station.
There is a big condo complex there, and the single family homes match your budget. All walkable to the delawanna train station.
The commute is 1 hour to NYC.
The elementary schools are ok. The high school has a terrible reputation though. But there are county high schools. Magnet/charter or whatever. If your kids are good students they can probably get into one of those.

Jail time? Wtf. Just go to court and pay the fine. Get a lawyer if you are concerned about this affecting your insurance rates. Especially if you have prior traffic issues. If this is your first time, I wouldn’t bother with the lawyer unless you really think your car insurance is going to sky rocket.
I got pulled over once. Long story, but I had snow on the roof of my car and the cops were running a campaign after a snow storm to pull people over. I had 3 possible tickets. Snow on the car (the whole point of the stop), expired license, expired registration. The cop gave me 2 tickets, snow and expired license. Both of these were mandatory court appearance. So I show up. I sit for 4 hours while all the people with lawyers get to go first. I watch people in court for stealing diapers from Target, etc. my turn comes, I go to the prosecutor table to arrange a plea before I go before the judge. You can accept the plea the prosecutor offers or take your chances with the judge. Taking your chances with the judge is assinine though. Anyways I get up to the prosecutors table and the prosecutor is like hey neighbor, he is the dad of one of my sons friends and lives a few doors down. He’s like don’t sweat it, gives me the plea deal. I accept. I got before the judge who reads the plea deal and does a double take. The judge is like wtf. Haha.
LPT: If you aren’t friends with the cops in your town, be friends with the prosecutors.

Well I thought so. I picked millstone based on low taxes compared to what I was paying in northern NJ before, proximity to 95, being about halfway between NYC and Philly seemed like a sweet spot for commuting. 30 minutes to the beach is nice. My house is about 8 minutes from six flags so in the summer I take my son over after school / camp for a few hours and it’s no big deal.

I think Millstone is great! Its about as rural a place as you can find in NJ. And it’s about halfway between NYC and Philly for commuting and 30 minutes to the beach. I’ve got 3 acres, and I think that’s about average in millstone.

This is why I live in a town with no police department (we contract NJ state police). We also don’t have a high school, we contract that too. And the town doesn’t have a sewer or water department. So developers have a massive uphill battle to build anything more than single family homes.

A bunch of trucks flying MAGA flags in a smelly swamp? Ya maybe. But they would have to drive through the rest of NJ to get there.

Maybe the rest of you can correct me if I’m wrong. It’s been a while.
Getting to meadowlands from NYC is straightforward as long as NJTRANSIT is going there.
Getting home after is worse. Be prepared to wait in line for a train home.
Hotels around MetLife charge Manhattan rates if there is anything happening at MetLife at night.
Options to get from your hotel in NJ to MetLife are not good. If you have a car/rental, you can drive it, but you will be waiting in line to get in, and have to pay a decent amount.

Ok well, several options come to mind.
Start drinking at bars, make friends.
Start going to meetups, make friends. The testicular cancer meetup is fun.
Start going to school in person.
Get a job, in person.
Start going to church (not something I would do but…)
