Bath because my family lives there, and I used to live there! A lot of good memories. I really miss the antique stores though, those were so awesome…and Harbor Light cafe… I remember having quesadillas there when I was like 6 and then bothering my mom constantly to go back there because, well…quesadillas! Lol

Yes!!! When I was in high school it started at 7:40am. Like…we lived up the street from school and I still had to get up hella early so I could shower and give my hair enough time to dry enough that it wouldn’t freeze on my way to school. I don’t even know when I’d have needed to wake up if I lived farther away!
Kids and teenagers need more sleep, it’s kinda cruel to force them to get up early just because of some arbitrary puritan-era stupidity about “early risers are morally superior”.

Oh dang, I didn’t know that’s how he died! Wow. Makes it all the more wild that sometimes when I’m visiting home, I see some dude with a bunch of confederate flags flying from his truck driving around like two minutes from Joshua Chamberlain’s house…
I hope his ghost follows that dude home and haunts him :///

Reply to how cold is your house? by bdana666
When I was a kid we kept it at 65 but the heat didn’t work in most of the house so it was effectively “wear 3 layers at all times” weather once November hit. We’d get ice on the wall of the bathroom that had outdoor air on the other side. (Mr. Freeze is one of my favorite Batman characters but this was…overdoing it a bit.)
My mom moved to a different place 12ish years ago, sets her thermostat now at 60-65 during the day and turns it off at night. The kitchen isn’t insulated though so it’s effectively 50ish degrees if it’s windy out. I just got back from visiting home and was super glad I remembered to bring the extra fleecy slipper socks, lol.

Hannafords— you don’t end up throwing out half the produce because it’s rotted after a day. Whenever I go home to visit I get treated to the “I bought this lettuce yesterday!! How is it moldy?!” rant from my mom at least once a week lol

That’s so nice of you to do for her! I’ve always given out candy to everyone regardless of age. :) (I don’t live in Maine anymore but my family still does and my mom is an equal opportunity candy giver as well! CANDY FOR ALL!!)

After he came back and we were chatting about his trip, it turned out he’d stayed a couple nights in the town where my mom and brother live! He even went into the library where my mom works but she was off that day. Weird coincidence.

These blow every other chip I’ve had out of the water. They’re amazing. My brother even mails them to people out of state as gifts, like, we have family members who live elsewhere and specially request these haha.
