Applewood Burgers - it’s in the back of Park Place Pub in Highland Park and probably the best burger I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Honestly all of Bryant Street is one big hidden gem, like Casa Brasil and Teppanyaki Kyoto.

Agree with the Hotel Monaco! I would also say The Fairmont is romantic too. Great bar on the second floor and good ambience overall.

Agree with the person that said Penn Avenue! I also HIGHLY recommend Pusadee’s Garden in Lawrenceville. Not as close to the other bars in Lawrenceville but the best Thai food and a romantic evening for sure.

Depends on if she wants a roommate or not! As a fresh out of college person, she might enjoy Squirrel Hill but it’s not that affordable without roommates. Maybe look into Friendship/Shadyside/East Liberty area too. Forbes Management is a good company I’ve rented with in the past.

My engagement ring is from Mathew Jewelers, a local family-owned business. They’re up in Cranberry, so a little bit of a haul if you were looking for closer to the city. My ring is a sapphire with a unique setting - they specialize in all different gemstones!

Also had a bad experience with Henne! My then boyfriend tried emailing and calling for pricing on engagement rings and got ignored. So he went in there and tried to talk to someone - he had an idea and just needed a little extra guidance. They treated him like garbage and basically tried to kick him out. He was wearing nice work clothes and had a reasonable budget so he was very off put by it. He went to Mathew Jewelers and they treated him like a king there. Any time I’m in Shadyside, I’ve thought of walking in their with my diamond and sapphire rings and pulling a Pretty Woman on them lol

Bridges & Bourbon if you want to splurge a little but have a great cocktail. City Works in Market Square probably has decent prices for HH.
