So do the bathrooms and the food court. MTA doesn't care. Never did. If they cared they would not have built a station WHERE HALF THE LIRR TRACKS don't exist! Who builds a train station when the tracks are 2 blocks away? In related news the MTA once again missed hteir goal for East Side Access. It was promised in 2022. Nope, delayed until at least 2023.

There is a ticket holders lounge in the hall. If you have a ticket, you can sit in there. It is strictly enforced so you are immune from the roving packs of deranged homeless. There are no seats because NYPD and the MTA have surrendered the system to the deranged homeless. They would rather have our trains and stations be insane asylums rather than evict the vagrants. Please don't ask me for compassion or solutions. My compassion left 3 murders ago, 14 stabbings and 9 people thrown in front of trains ago. I don't care where they send the deranged homeless. Put them in firehouses, police stations, lobbies of luxury buildings, Citifiled. I simply don't care. I am a simple commuter and commuters have borne the entire burden of the deranged homeless for far too long. It is someone else's turn. What ever compassion or services you want to offer please do it at the exit of the system. Escort the vagrants out of the system, by force if necessary, and then start any interaction you like. Just leave me out. I've done my time and I am more than entitled to clean, safe, transportation. Not my problem anymore.

Actually, I think his is one of the rare cases where that is possible, although it has never been done. I think he has to be convicted of a Federal felony and the crime had to be committed as part of his employment while on the job. I don't think it matters because they will garnish it anyway. They will be looking to recover about a million dollars. He has an expensive house in a place a police Sargent should not be about to afford to live so that will probably go first. I expect he will try and cop a plea to reduce the jail time as much as possible and part of that will be full restitution. Can never be sure these days but I can't see him escaping without years of jail.

Smart. One , single case of wire fraud, which would have been the worst charge they could file and any jail time would be based on that anyway. Wire fraud has a 20 year max. In this case really simple to prove. He would certainly be convicted. He would not serve 20 year as this is a 1st offense. Multiple victims and lots of money so that would raise the sentence. I figure 5 years if convicted, maybe 3.5 to 4 if he pleads out plus full restitution. Serious jail time plus financial ruin. Works for me

Nice write up. That stretch of Rosevelt Ave is my favorite part of NYC. When you hear melting pot, cross roads of the world, yearning to breath free and all that this is what they are talking about. The most divisive stretch of road in the world. Don’t like one cuisine, walk 2 blocks and find another one. Only mistake you made was not stopping and eating everything in site (I know, hard to walk after that). I just point and it. Once I had marinated grilled beef hearts and some purple hibiscus drink and it was wonderful. Get in trouble!
