I used to have an app that made me do a math problem to shut off the alarm. Now I just set 8 of them so if I fall back asleep another one is right around the corner. This has trained me to just get up because there's no hope of peace after the first one.

I understand. I generally don't change things until my crappy habits have me in crisis mode. It took years of trial and error to get my shit together. Good luck and enjoy your break!

This is the perfect opportunity to create new habits. Once they're set you only have to transition them into the working week. It's so hard to get started but you may find next month's boredom is exactly what you need! I'd schedule it like a work day but you'd be working for yourself. Stop for lunch and at dinner. Veg the rest of the night.

Whittle some wood. My brother got into this during the winter last year and he's made some pretty cool stuff.

Era related advice. Your 1950's economic advice probably won't serve me the same way now so please urging me to make the same moves. The world is different now.

If I absolutely cannot keep my eyes open I just go to bed early and wake up two hours early the following morning and get stuff done. Either way, they're my hours, but in the morning I have the energy that I cannot muster after work when it's midnight...I mean 6 pm.

I slept through the night like a bebe the other night and told everyone who would listen the next day. Did my bladder almost burst? Yes, but it was the most glorious sleep in the past 6 years.
