I had the marble version of the hd600 and the regular hd660s. The marble paint was chipping, the 660s look cooler, the hd600 sound better, and one day when I was doing a deep cleaning, I had the idea to just swap the drivers around. I recently sold said hd660s in marble chassis

Edit: I also painted blue over the "hd660s" badge on the yokes to avoid confusion lol

I'm done. Tapping out. This is my endgame. HD8XX and HD600 (in hd660s chassis) with Topping DX7s and Schiit Valhalla 2. I am happy with this set up and finally don't need to spend anymore money on this hobby.

Except maybe on pads. And some tubes to roll. And cables. I should probably grab some IEM's for work. But then I'd need a portable dac too.... Oh no

Those are both great watches! But those are Targeting a very different type of amp. The ones shown in the video are cheap hybrid amps. They use a chip for the amp gain control, rather than the tube, giving them basically a cheap solid state sounds. The ones I have listed are true OTL (or at least seem to be) tube amps. They seem to share the same basic components to something similar like a bottlehead crack amp, which go for $500+. Im curious as to whether these cheap chinese clones are decent enough to warrant the price since they seemingly haven't made it to the U.S. yet.

I've been told to just get a littledot amp for the money but where's the fun in that?

Personally, I never had them at the same time. But I thought the 6xx and the 66s were similar but 660s was slightly better. Now 660s vs 58x was an insane performance difference. So personally, I feel the extra $ on 6xx is worth it over the 58x. But still nothing wrong with the 58x, still great

Just got the HD700 into and I'm a little confused on how to feel about the sound. I knew the driver was the same as the HD660s, which I've been daily driving for months now, so I was expecting them to be a lot closer which they aren't at all. DMS said it best, these are weird. Mostly because they don't sound like Sennheisers normal sound with a huge emphasis on the mids.

Idk what I was expecting but the best way I can describe them is like an exaggerated HD560s? I thought the HD560s were much more playful headphones compared to the 600 series, so the 700's feel a lot like that. Playful but with more exaggeration. INSANELY Better sound stage, more bass. Details are alittle hazy, but still there? Like if the HD660s was a color palette of blocks of individual colors, the HD700 is a rgb rainbow color wheel where it's all blended together.

It's going to take me more listening to decide if these are for me, but whichever I like more I'm going to keep and the others I'll sell.
