Yes, but what I'm saying is that if the SPD would have acted differently in 1918/19, then the KPD might have either been an even smaller party because the SPD would have integrated more of their voters into itself, or not felt the need to simply become a Muscowian puppet party.

That’s not what I said at all. What I meant was that the SPD split up into two parties shortly before the Weimar Republic was created, the SPD and the USPD, who would later become the KPD. If the SPD would have at least managed to keep a working relationship with the USPD, the Reichstag could have continued to function and there would have been no need for the Notstandsgesetze.

It also very much didn’t help that the SPD antagonised the far-left forces right from the get-go and used the military on them.

There were about 66,000 combatants total in that battle. There is NO WAY that nearly all of them wore full plate armour. I agree with the previous poster - 10-15k is more likely.

Yes to both of those. I also don’t think the word ‚riot‘ fits particularly well, because this was a planned attack on the jews by the nazi party who were in charge (though other members of the public took part or were at least witnesses, as seen in the photos)

You can also just call it the November pogrom, if that floats your boat more. But calling it the "crystal night" definitely doesn't bring the right kind of associations.

Dear English speaking world, We stopped calling it the Kristallnacht because it is a nazi propaganda term and instead call it the Reichspogromnacht, and imo you should do that, too.

Reply to In your opinion, which is better? The original Star Wars Trilogy, or Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy? by Absuridity_Octogon
I think you can also compare the two in terms of their source material: LotR is based on THE most influential series of fantasy novels, whereas Star Wars was specifically written for the movies. I love the LotR movies, but they do heavily rely on Tolkien having already laid the ground work imo. So I think Star Wars deserves some credit for just starting from nothing and still telling a captivating story.

The movie does some things really well, but for some reason they decided that the main part of the movie should be set in the last three days of the war, which really weakens the movie imo. And the ending is just incredibly dumb.

Yeah, the Japanese Army was stretched thin because of how big China is already, the Soviet Union would have been an impossibility for them to conquer much of.
