There isn't even a ballcock, there's some weird cylinder that slides vertically in a shaft. All well and good unless you have high calcium water that leaves calcium deposits on everything and stops it moving. Which I do and which it does.

I had the same issue in my last place when one of the jets on the spa bath broke. Never even used it as a bath, just as a shower.

Had to take down a wall and retile it once i'd replaced the nozzle. That's twice in 10 years. I mean, it looks better than a plastic panel, but incurs a lot of ballache.

As a Brit living in Europe I'm really confused about why things like cisterns, which often need access for small repairs are tiled in.

I had to take down and then rebuild a tiled wall to replace a rubber washer last week.

Yeah, it means I end up riding the volume control so that I don't wake my daughter up with house wobbling explosions.

It's a combination of

Lavalier mics replacing single mics for scenes so that people don't have to shout or speak clearly to be heard.

A quest for high dynamic range so that exciting explosions and the like seem louder than dialogue.

A desire for authenticity even if that means that some dialogue will be difficult to hear or even completely inaudible.

It's quite annoying to a lot of people.

It's to show that your seat is reserved between those stops.

Previously these seats would.have had little ticket things put into a slot on the top of the seat.

Are these not standard though? Do American trains not have these? How are reserved seats identified without them?

Obvs, red for stop being off, green for start being off, makes perfect sense.
