But the dragon capsule has (had?) an abort system built in.

Have they totally abandoned that now?

Space x philosophy though doesn't really matter if it doesn't get a licence to carry people. I understood that the philosophy for the people granting licences for vehicles to carry people to space from the US needed that.

I suppose though that he could launch from China where it appears they could not care less about any space related conventions.

Great. I remember the initial concept being discussed while I was studying 20 years ago. Now they have the compound hopefully it will be a product within the next five years.

Mind you, generally things like this go on trials for twenty years or so to check the real world lifespan and reactions. No one wants to have their shiny glass tower look all flaky 10 years in.

This is what my dad did. I travelled to a zone of a total eclipse near the millennium. It was overcast. Still an unforgettable experience. It was quite eerie.

It's a bit sad. From what I read earlier its taken from a series of answers given by the user about the deceased. It's extrapolating from the memories given to it but the answers it gives that are outside its inputs are just fabrications. I really think that this could be a massively unhealthy thing for a great many people. Part of grieving and life is letting people go.
