Just curious, why do you think it's "ethically imperative to be able to discern human text from AI text"? Would it really be so bad if you were talking to a computer?

Do they have similarities? Definitely. Are they the same? No.

Since they are relatively new, I don't know of any good books on diffusion models. But there are some great resources online.

It depends on the product of course. If you're making software for self-driving cars then of course the latency is going to be important. If you're writing software to review people's emails, maybe latency isn't so important.

If you don't think it's uplifting, just cast your downvote and move on. Clearly the vast majority of people agree that legalizing same-sex marriage is a good thing.
