Reply to comment by [deleted] in Higher breakthrough rate lately with Covid in Maine? by BadLuckShoesie
The study you provided on vaccination's impact on transmission suggests to continue masking...
"Thus, the current evidence suggests that current mandatory vaccination policies might need to be reconsidered, and that vaccination status should not replace mitigation practices such as mask wearing, physical distancing, and contact-tracing investigations, even within highly vaccinated populations."
Also, the study on masking suggests the results are not concrete:
"There is uncertainty about the effects of face masks. The low to moderate certainty of evidence means our confidence in the effect estimate is limited, and that the true effect may be different from the observed estimate of the effect."
Here is a study from Nature suggesting a positive correlation between masking and reducing respiratory infection rate.

Reply to What’s up with Bangor? by EmeraldMoose12
Bangor is a long term investment. As climate change and housing price increases continue, Bangor will become very desirable. COVID caused a short term depression that we have mostly figured out how to weather both now and for the next time so I anticipate Bangor will be back to its previous luster in a year or two and 10-15 years down the road it will be well worth the effort.

Two reasons:
- Musk's vision for the Twitter product is theoretically and practically destroying what was great about Twitter.
- His dogmatic approach to free speech is resulting in a wave of hate speech underming any semblance of reasonable discourse on the platform.
- The pay to play model for verification ($8 for blue check) is actually undermining 1 above as the newly introduced Twitter algorithm will promote "verified" accounts to the top of your Twitter stream while suppressing the "unverified" accounts further down.
- Musk's business strategy is unethical.
- Demanding employees "lick his boot" with seemingly zero input/oversite from internal committees.
- Cutting headcount because his failing product model in 1 above is resulting in negative future cash flow estimates.
- Leveraging employees from Tesla to support with Twitter.
- Leveraging Tesla/SpaceX equity to bolster the failing business of Twitter (keep in mind Tesla and SpaceX receive funding from the govt so he is indirectly using our tax money to pad his failure).
Given these concerns, it is reasonable for a person to simply not want to engage with Twitter especially because the value of Twitter is the content the individual user provides to it.

edit: oh, one other major thing, Musk is a manchild rightwing memer who a lot of people find despicable on surface level actions alone. As such, simply not wanting to associate with that shit stain is sufficient for many.

It's pretty but I don't think we have "athletically pleasing" money at the moment. Should focus what we have on basic infrastructure
