At the beginning of the year, r/bookclub had a thread where you could introduce yourself and post your goodreads account, so I added and was added by a lot of redditors because of that. It's been great because all of us for the most part are reading the same books at the same time, so there is a lot of interaction and interesting comments/reviews.

I was also going to suggest The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. Another off the top of my head is Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr.

Yeah I've stopped trying to post new topics in here because the couple of times I tried, they got taken down as being "low effort" posts...which I personally in my humble opinion disagree with. They were topics I hadn't seen discussed in here before or at least not in the search I made beforehand, and I was genuinely curious to know what people would say. I didn't argue it though, they were just unworthy topics, I guess... well, time to go talk about Colleen Hoover again. I did really dislike Verity.

Reply to The Fifth Season and first person narrative really threw me off. by apocalypschild
We just read it in r/bookclub and a lot of people felt the same way, but it seemed like most everyone stuck with it, ended up enjoying it, and understood the choice to use second-person narration once we reached the end.
