People were trying to overthrow the Pahlavis for like 50 years. Just because people don't like a government does not mean it will be overthrown soon.

Reply to comment by Irish618 in TIL: WW1 Armistice Day was Nov 11th, fighting was to cease at 11:00 AM. An American solider charged a German machine gun nest with 16 mins left, and died at 10:59 AM. The last soldier to die in WWI. by wats6831
that makes slightly more sense since it was an Armistice and not an immediate peace treaty. The war wasn't over, just on hold while a peace treaty was being negotiated.

Reply to comment by Anti-theist999 in TIL tomb raiding is a big problem in China that looters sometimes find historically significant sites first. For instance the tomb of the famed 3 Kingdoms-era general, Cao Cao, was discovered in 2008 after police inspected the stolen goods of a bunch of robbers, who then led them to an unknown tomb. by Khysamgathys
China would have been better off if he just won at the Red Cliffs. Liu Bei's dogmatic stand for legitimacy just cast China into so many more years of war. Cao Cao could have unified China and restored peace, but there was another century of pointless war afterwards. It was the Sima clan that won in the end anyways.
