I remember it got trolled pretty heavily for the casting - I tried an episode and it had that cheap, tacky BBC fantasy/sci fi feel. YMMV, however.

I’d say the standard of acting in Netflix originals is overall pretty poor.

Ordinarily I would agree, as a woman, that Netflix has a propensity for dumbing down male characters but in this one, everyone was stupid and insufferable. The wife was just the worst.

I’m shocked that they made the main character incompetent, shocked I tell you!

I don’t think the takeaway from this is going to be about the royal family but rather that Harry and Meghan suck.
I find it hilarious that Reddit is all up in arms about constitutional monarchies (but weirdly only about the British one) while stanning their favorite corporations and geopolitical bad actors. Just lol

Highly subjective. Prominent female roles are also high on Oscar bait type emotion.

Let’s be real, we know which route Hollywood would take.

Bingo. However, a move like this will generate more entertainment on its own than a lot of Hollywood has given to the general audience in several years.

I’m sure an appropriate quota/pattern will be established - 2 people identifying as female, 1 person identifying as male, and 1 non binary person, rinse & repeat. What could be more fair?!

Alternatively, you and Emma Corrin are also people who don’t matter who are complaining about something. How ironic!
If this happens, we can say goodbye to outstanding performances by men getting appropriately recognized.

Yeah, no. 90% of the talking points since the premiere are shitting on the show, not her.
