Banks failing are also a lagging indicator. If JPOW stops raising rates now, we’ll feel the effects towards the end of the year. It’ll be interesting to see if unemployment ticks up meaningfully in the next few months or not

I know they changed the formula somehow. You’re saying the number is higher than what is presented right?

We have yet to see unemployment increase in any meaningful way. Tech companies are shedding the highest paid workers that can find new jobs in less than two weeks. We have a job market where there’s 2 jobs for every available worker. Covid caused many to leave the job force for good and they ain’t coming back. This is creating an interesting environment and we def are in for some pain, I’m just not sure where it’ll come from

I work in the utility industry and there would just be no chance to get hired back at double salary even if they’re not paying benefits. Something tells me I should switch careers

Damn I’ve always worked in a field that has to be done in a centralized location. I guess I just didn’t know how it is. Thanks for the explanation. It was very direct and eye opening. I guess I just can’t imagine employers bending over like that for talent. DAMN

Can an implosion is the commercial real estate market seep into the residential market? Somehow I think yes

I can’t fathom a business paying for employee meals, lattes, snacks, and the myriad other perks offered. That’s nuts. No wonder the balance sheet drastically improved. You really need all that extra stuff to compete for fintech employees?

Lol, yea damn you are having a hard time. I used my degree to get into the power industry as a system operator. Operations is where the money is. I’m going to be a supervisor after 12 years plebbing around making over $100k for most of it

One way to fix the student debt problem would be to allow it to be wiped away in bankruptcy. It would be wild. No one would qualify and many many colleges would close up shop.
