Reply to We need more annotated books in the world by mankieblanx
My religion growing up was books. Books were sacred and precious in my family. Books let me learn things I never could on my own and go places I couldn't go. For my working class family of mill workers and mariners and shop keepers, they were excited to have a book learner in the family who might be able to earn a living with their mind, and they kept me in books. But it would have been sacrilege to deface a book in any way.
I know intellectually that books are not sacred, but I can't get past my upbringing.

I just want to say, that's such a wholesome, interesting, and useful career goal. Beavers are cool creatures, and very important for the environments they change/create. I wish you luck!

I think all places that deliver should make Halloween a "no penalty or freebies for being late" day. Y'all should be able to go as slow as you want to keep everyone safe, and I'll eat cold fries without complaining.

I have very fine, very short hair. The longest I ever let it get is #2, about 6mm. I cut my hair myself on our back patio and just leave the clippings on the concrete. It doesn't take long for the birds to pick it up. But I never thought about human hair being an entanglement hazard, thanks for mentioning it. I think my super short hair is fine, but if I have to cut it when it's longer, I won't leave it on the ground anymore.

If I recall, an average adult at rest gives off something like 100 W of heat. So around 15 humans is a space heater on full blast. 150 people waiting to board a plane makes a lot of heat

I agree, it is so confident even when it is very wrong. I was using it to review Boolean algebra, and it asserted that two expressions were equivalent when they were not. I asked it to prove it using a truth table. It printed the truth table correctly, showing that the expressions were not equivalent. Then it said, "As you can see, the expressions are equivalent."
