True. Just be wary. Today alone: a Walmart greeter was assaulted by a shoplifter. Different Walmart, I personally witnessed a fistfight in the parking lot and no one was phased. Same Walmart where a minimum of 1 dead body is discovered per year. I've been followed home, harassed, and my car broken into twice. Springfield is the poorest city in the state. Be informed and try to stay on the south side of town.

Oakridge Properties - that includes Crosswinds and Peppertree. We had the same concerns with rental history and credit but they approved us no issues. The apartments at Peppertree are exceptionally old and not well maintained, but if you just need a roof over your head it's acceptable. They allow pets and smoking.

Cox 100%. I've had babies at both hospitals. Mercy treated me like garbage. Cox saved my life and my baby. Dr. Matthew Weis is a saint. The doctor at Mercy gave me an episiotomy after I said no and I had serious issues after that. At Cox, my son got stuck with shoulder distotia. Dr. Weis had extra nurses in the room because he knew it was likely to happen. They jumped on top of me, rotated his shoulders, and he came out. If that didn't work I would have had an emergency surgery or they would've broken his collar bone.

I don't watch cable, I don't listen to the radio, I just moved to an apartment and didn't leave a forwarding address, I haven't been to the DMV, and the notice wasn't taped to the door at my polling place. It happens. I guess I assumed because I was allowed to vote in August that it wouldn't be an issue today.
