Exactly! And trying to find what you want is chaos, the store is set up super weird, and they stock shelves so if they are out of something they cover up its label and fill the empty spot with something else, it’s absolute madness

I’ve found both the Hudson and Maynard ones to be jam packed both sundays and mondays, and the way they stock their shelves has taken me ages to get used to

As a city to metrowest transplant can someone explain the MB obsession? The stores are tight packed, crowded as hell, they have 35 people pushing palettes and restocking shelves while everyone is shopping, and they don’t have scanners or self checkout so it takes 20-30 minutes just to get out of there. We tried to avoid them for so long but lately they are the only place that has any produce out here.

Ohhhh ok, no worries.
MA doesn’t have a lot of that. We are the least conservative state out of all 50, with the highest wages, best healthcare, and best education. Massholes (I say this affectionately) also don’t put up with a lot of bullshit. Last time they tried to hold a “free speech” Charlottesville type rally up here like 100 people showed up, and something like 30,000 people showed up to beat the snot out of them.
The major downside that you probably wont hear on this sub. The gun laws. I’m going to cut right to the chase. I am a lifelong liberal, I think the licensing system we have and background checks makes sense, I’m not some “muh rights” republicunt, but if you want to purchase a gun for personal or home protection, the laws are written to be confusing and contradictory, and people often accuse them of being predatory.
I will now sit back and accept my downvotes.

That I actually didn’t know. I had just always assumed there was a Vermont shaped hole up there until 1791.

Well it also wasn’t one of the 13 colonies, so whether or not it was recognized, it also was not part of New England at the time of the revolution

Vermont was the republic of Vermont until a decade after the revolution, it may never have joined New England if New England stayed English.

Actually Vermont was it’s own country at the time, didn’t join the US until later, and in this scenario, it may never have.

Reply to Disqualified from jury duty, but not sure why by D_L56
You are lucky, I just had to show up for jury service, it was terrible. I had to wake up at like 5:30 to make it an hour and a half away and then they moved us out of a jury room to a courtroom, then decided to interview jurors individually so they made like 75 people wait out in the hallway. For 4 hours.

Honestly we have 3 grocery stores within like 2 miles. Stop and shop is constantly out of like broccoli and green beans, Shaws has half rotten produce on the shelves, market basket is the only one fully stocked, but it’s so much of a shitshow to even walk in there that it’s barely worth going.

Honestly western MA should just have its own governor, because any governor looking to do the most good for the most people, will inevitably have to focus on the side of the state that has 6 million people.

Because land doesn’t vote, People do. Giving each county equal say would be giving every resident of Franklin county 22 times more voting power than every resident of middlesex county.

Of course not, but saying that for instance every county should have equal say is insane when middlesex has over a million people and Franklin has 70k

I mean losing a seat due to population loss is unfortunately the system working. Otherwise you end up with things like wyoming getting 3 representatives in Congress while MA only has 11 (we should have 14 by the same metrics)

Other stores like stoppy just have the scanner you scan and bag as you go though, checkout takes literally 45 seconds, you just scan the scanner and pay.
