FYI Not Just Bikes was talking about Strong Towns. Strong Towns itself was created by Chuck Marohn Jr. He has written some books: Strong Towns and Confessions of a Recovering Engineer.

Electrification is not just for climate and pollution concerns. It takes less time for electrically powered trains to get up to speed and to slow down compared to diesel trains. Which means you can theoretically decrease the headways between trains, increasing service. We'll see if the MBTA takes advantage of this or not.

I can point to one area where money can be saved. Most states control traffic with construction laborers doing flagging duty. We open up the OT chest for the Staties to do the same thing essentially.
