As someone who worked at one of these places (not gonna name names because I think I signed an NDA) Buy let's just say it has some semblance of a relationship to the one in the OP.
The big problem is that most of these kids have no where to go after. They get absolute dog shot education, they get mentally and physically abused, and they often have other issues that need professional help they aren't getting.
The 2nd issue is that the parents are rich as fuck. You have to be to send your kids there. So it creates a horrible cycle where they become dependent on their parents or end up in prison.

It's absolutely wild that you can openly say "I dont agree with the cultural aspects of Palestinians so it's ok they are being genocided."
As a member of the left, here is my personal stance.
I dont agree with a lot of the cultural aspects of Palestinians, but I dont think that is an excuse for them to be genocided.

It's not just the neuroscience field. It's every field. Research is a very feast or famine thing. And the sad part is, research that doesn't reach some groundbreaking conclusion is good, it's essentially the basis for the scientific method. But that doesn't get you funding nor does it keep your job, so there's a perverseness to it where it's incentivised to falsify data to keep your career.
