So, I saw this, and I think this is it, but I remember buying it on a vacation I took in March 2006 (the vacation was for someone’s birthday, which is why I remember such a precise time frame) and this book originally came out in 2007. So now I’m like, even more confused. Was not expecting to go from “recommend funny book on Reddit” to “funny book doesn’t really exist” to “it does, but there is a tear in the space-time continuum” but there ya go.

I remember reading about in a book called “The Worst Case Scenario Guide to Mental Disorders You Could Have Right Now!” but now that I tried looking it up to link to it (because it was a really awesome book), I can find no trace of it, and I am left wondering if I too am suffering from some kind of psychological disorder.

I have my grandmother’s old address book that she started using in the 60’s, and our neighbor’s number is in there as “Fairview 5-####”. I checked my cell phone, and it’s the same number I have for her, except I have the whole 10 digits. Hasn’t changed in 60 years, through all the phone number changes and updates.

That happened while I lived in San Francisco. I worked across the street from a major train station, think Downtown Crossing. We Evacuate customers, all our employees head to our pre-arranged meeting place at a park a block away, yada yada yada. I saw pictures of a bomb unit guy going down the stairs into the station dressed like the Stay-Puff Marshamllow man. I’m texting my parents to let them know I’m safe in case the news goes national. Huge fucking deal.

Someone had forgotten their briefcase next to a bench.
