Yea hiring is like hedging your bet on someone. You can have the smartest person alive join your team but if they cant work well with others then it's a bad fit. Imo dev require less soft skills and a lot more tech skill. Something I wasn't cut out for.
Spent my whole life trying to go for a single career path and wanted to get by on my own merit. I slowly learned that companies don't care about that and only want assurance when hiring a person. So I networked with people and found a new career path that I was unaware of and got a referral from a future colleague I met at a tech meetup.
Job search after getting a CACI degree and over the course of 2 years took a 4 month break for cs boot camp and used sankeymatic.com to create the chart.
