Last time I saw one of these was 2002. I was in a sketchy neighborhood and was walking to the gas station to buy a pack of cigs. Some crackhead was trying to sell it for $4.00. I don’t know how much crack you can get for four bucks but I do kinda regret not buying it. Good alarm clock radio. My grandparents had one in the spare room when I used to sleep over as a kid.

A lot of the guys I work with wear SAS and they are good quality shoes. But they are still replacing them every 6 to 8 months and at $200+ a pair I just can't wrap my head around that. That's the same lifespan I got out of my Merrell's for $100 more.

I try to alternate pairs because it definitely extends the mileage. I remember reading something about Dansko's going down in quality because they shifted production to China and that Sanitas are actually the company that used to manufacture Dansko's. How long ago did u purchase ur Dansko's?

Unfortunately, I don't think that would work well for me. In a butcher shop, absolutely, but it would probably be too hot in the restaurant I work in. I'd also look rather silly as we wear shorts a lot of the time lol! But I appreciate the advice, thank you!

My favorite overcoat was made in Yugoslavia. I found it in a thrift store in NYS. Paid $20 for it. It was warm and very well made and fit me perfectly. I had it about 10 years then lost it in a house fire. I really miss that coat. Yugoslavia dissolved in 1992 so it had to be made prior to that. I got it around 2005 and lost it in the fire in 2015 but it was still in amazing condition for a coat that was at least 23yo.

Has no one (I'm thinking Consumer Reports or something like that) done a independent study comparing different filters? Do the better quality filters not publish any data to demonstrate their effectiveness? I gotta get into the water purifier business.
