I always laugh when I watch the news after the first snowfall of the year. There is always some reporter at Home Depot proclaiming that all shovels are sold out. What the heck are people doing with their shovels that they need a new one every year. I have shovels that are over 20 years old and still work perfectly fine LOL.

I'm taking NJ Transit to Penn station next weekend and I'll be traveling with young kids. So, inevitably they will probably need to use the restroom. Are there any restrooms that are at least somewhat decent and won't be filled with homeless people, like in a designated ticketed area? A neighbor told me that the NJT concourse isn't too bad.

At the time I was a lot younger so it didn't seem that bad. I wouldn't do it again, at least not 5 days a week. You mentioned that you only have to commute to the office 3 days per week, so I would say give it a try for a year and move closer if you don't like it. Traffic is always the worst on Friday afternoons, so make sure Friday is one of your "home" days.

You could live in Jersey City. Lots of young professionals and very close to NYC. The drive to Raritan is about 45-60 minutes depending on traffic. I used to do that commute years ago. If you want something a little closer, New Brunswick is a smaller city and home to Rutgers University so it has a college feel to it.

What do you mean you have to exit to stay on it? I know there was a revolt when they tried to extend 280 to I-78. That's why the First Street exit in Newark just ends abruptly. The Newark-Jersey City "turnpike" is one of the ugliest and most convoluted stretches of roadway in the state.

If you can't put down the full 20% you may qualify for an FHA loan. With an FHA loan you put down less than the 20% and the bank charges you mortgage insurance (PMI). With my FHA loan many years ago it worked out to about $150/month in mortgage insurance. Once you start making your mortgage payments and reach the 20% threshold the bank can remove the mortgage insurance. I recommend paying extra money towards your loan each month so the mortgage insurance will go away sooner. It will all depend on the specifics of your lender and your loan.

It's not just about the books and tests. Our physical school infrastructure is literally crumbling. I have friends that teach in schools with no air conditioning and teachers go home sick during the warmer months. In this state we love to boast about how great our schools are, yet in 2022 we have entire schools with no air conditioning. I have friends and family in other states with lower ranked districts, yet these students are entering classrooms in modern, state of the art school buildings. We are not spending money wisely in this state. Hundreds of individual school districts with top heavy administrative spending.

Based on my 25 years of business experience, an MBA is only "worth it" if you are applying for a job that specifically requires you to have an MBA. In other words, if you're just applying to some random job, an MBA is not necessarily going to give you an edge over someone that does not have an MBA. I sometimes give job interviews and in many cases we turned down people that had an MBA in favor of people without an MBA that had more favorable business experience.

Liberals are generally anti-police and anti-gun. So what is their plan for reducing crime and defending themselves?

The problem with owning a gun in a state like NJ is you will be at fault if you shoot someone, even if they have broken into your home. It's a situation where criminals have more rights than their victims.

Why do New Jerseyans obsess over this? I used to live in CT which is geographically about the same size as NJ and people there are not arguing over geographic regions.
