Read a statement from him yesterday, it wasn't a planned attack, he snapped after a critic that always slammed his work made a snarky comment and was outside with his dachshund before, so he had a bag with his dogs shit in his pockets.

They thought about the concept, but didn't Invent them.
The "Rods from God" were actually developed by Pournelle, and after the project was cancelled he went on to write a novel were he used them.

It's similarities in very "basic" words for something as far removed as Hindi and German.
Things like family relations are often only a few sound-changes removed P<>V (sound like F) i <> a
Vater (Father) vs. Pita
even with only the change of i<>a you're very close to the latin "pater".

There are other things, like the indian word "Raj" being very similar to it's latin translation "Rex".

Pretty much, if nothing changes. Our system is based on infinite growth, wich could only work if we had infinite resources at hand.

It was during a pause after he walked his dog before he was able to dispose of it according to the statement.
I don't know if it's true, but that's what he said.
