"They are an eattial part of the banana partly in German...". I recline corrected. This makes perfect sense.

I doubt you are using the word "essential" correctly, but I am glad that our friend now has your support.

It's okay, you just slowly sprinkle it into conversations over about 5 years, because it's an obscure enough fact that every time you bring it up spread out and in a new group, people are like. Oh yeah cool I should try that, and it has always worked 100% of the time in my real life. So it's 100% satisfying every time.

I was not brought up in this obscure tradition. Best of bananas to you though.

No biting required!
I don't generally wash fruit with peels so no washing the banana first. It's pretty easy to make a notch with a thumbnail or a knife or really anything, But usually you can just peel back that little brown patch and it'll catch on to the peel behind it.

I'll still accidentally open a banana from the top sometimes, and then I get frustrated at myself haha

Dang, you are the first person this hasn't worked for. And I have told everybody I know at this point, haha.
The "bottom" is the part with the small brown patch, no stem. If you peel from that part, all of the strings stay attached to the peel when you peel it off.
If that doesn't work, best of luck in your cursed blursed life.

They're bitter and just make the fruit experience a bit messier.
Proud of you for standing up for banana strings though, that hill you're dying on is not crowded.

Do you mean you can't open the banana from the bottom?
Or that there are still strings attached after you peel the banana from the bottom?
