“We’re being tough on crime”

I tell people I work with especially if their case hits the news, like yeah they are going to toss the book at you so they can say that they are tough on crime, but they will most likely plea you way down so they can get the guilty plea so that can say “look how many convictions I got, I’m tough on crime”

As someone who works in D&A I will say I am in favor of AA/NA but not for the program and the big book…more so just for the support amongst others in your community who are also working to maintain their sobriety….addiction is a mother fucker, and is a very difficult struggle as many who are entering into treatment have left many friends behind in order to get sober….having those friends and supports who are sober and who can be there for you are very important. One of the larger reasons for relapse I’ve come across is boredom/loneliness. You become sober and you can’t hang out with the people you used to due to triggers with wanting to use, but eventually for some that loneliness does become to much.

One year I missed 3 deer in the woods, and was driving home from a friends house during hunting season and hit a deer, called my dad to come help since I couldn’t open the hood, and to bring a knife since the deer was laying by the side of the road, wanted to end things quickly for her, dad shows up we pop the hood find the car is fine and I grab the knife to walk over to the deer, she jumped up and ran away like nothing had happened. My dad looks at me and said “you miss in the woods and then decide to throw your car at one and still can’t even kill it” in the most sarcastic tone I’ve ever heard him speak in

The country never outlawed slavery as a whole until the 13th amendment…hell space states fought for the north. The border states even after the emancipation proclamation were allowed to keep their slaves as that only applied to states in rebellion to the government. Yes individual states in the north ended slavery but it wasn’t on the whole. The south became a little bitch and afraid that Lincoln would end slavery and tried to leave the union and opened war on the north. Hell for the first almost 2 years of the war, the south would have been able to rejoin the union without losing slavery…the south is the ones who in the end made it all about slavery but that’s just revisionist history on the losers part. The confederacy was a bunch of whiny brats

No one who committed treason and took up arms against our country should be honored by having buildings or military installations named after them…the only honor they deserve would be having a latrine named after them. They should just consider themselves lucky the govt took a peaceful transition approach…every confederate should have been hung
