Now that the planet has been so totally messed up, the Arctic Ocean will not have nearly as much ice. That reduction of ice will make shipping via the Arctic, rather than through Panama, feasible. It saves 4 days and $200k of fuel, plus boats can be filled 25% more, for this route has a greater water depth. Seeing this makes me a little sad. Permalink 2
