Can we all just go back to bed and restart today? Particularly all of the animals? All of my animals at home are losing their shit today. One dog is currently on her way to the urgent care vet because she ate an entire can of raw biscuits!!! The baby duckling I’m taking care of is in a bad spot because the heater turned off over night. Luckily he’s warming up and perking back up. And then the adult duck I’m caring for was COVERED in shit just now. Like YALL….. get it together!

Edit: but our other dog is being a total sweetie and is babysitting the baby duck and is visibly worried. It’s way too cute

I’m “at work” at my new remote job and have no idea what I’m supposed to be doing lol. I think they all forgot that I’m here

I’m on day 2 of a new remote job… I can’t tell how I feel about it. I THINK it’s a good fit but I’m feeling overwhelmed by it at the moment and that’s causing second thoughts. Everyone that I’ve zoomed with has been super nice and helpful so far though! We’ll see how it goes! My brain is definitely fried though but I still have about 2 hours left today.

My 8 year old niece and I are currently having a sleepover night. We got pizza, watched one of the older batman movies, made popcorn, and are now settling down to sleep. We’re getting up early tomorrow to go feed horses and then we’ll be on our way to our family’s thanksgiving!

My normally ultra lazy house dog gets to be a barn dog today. We’ve been here almost 2 hours and he’s losing his absolute shit. We took a LOOOONG walk in the pastures and he’s still wired. Where is he getting this energy??? I’m doing this in preparation for him to meet a potential new dog brother this afternoon. He’s always way too energetic when meeting new dogs and makes them mad so I’m trying to get him all pooped out before his play date. Wish us luck!

I’ve moved on! Once I realized that I got very mild PTSD I decided to move on and not roll the dice on making it worse.

No Halloween plans. A past EMS experience left me with some mild PTSD focused around Halloween. So, while I enjoy the whole spooky vibe all of October, the actual day of Halloween is not for me. I’ll be spending a lot of time at my barn and being peaceful with the ponies.

I actually woke up early today to go feed my horse. Then ended up hanging out with barn people and watching a couple of riding lessons. Recent back surgery has me out of the saddle for a while so I enjoyed living vicariously through the kid taking lessons!
